I think it's wonderful that you are dealing with such an open adoption. We know practically nothing of Meechi's birth family and the little bit of info we do have we can't be sure how accurate it is. I would love to be able to have some contact with his birth mother, for his sake. It would cost over $1000 just to search for her with no gaurantee she would be found or that if she was found that she would be willing to share any information.
